McBenleo Cares supports Options 1 and 2, giving you flexibility and choice.

What is Self-Directed Support?

Care arranged around your decisions, routines and priorities

Self-Directed Support (SDS) gives you choice and control over your care and support. Instead of receiving services chosen for you, SDS puts you in the driving seat, allowing you to decide what support you need, when you need it, and who provides it.

With Self-Directed Support Options 1 and 2, you stay in control of your care. Choose McBenleo Cares as your provider, with flexibility, dignity and full choice.

SDS Options We Support

Understanding the two options we can support you with

SDS Option 1

Direct Payment

The person receives the budget directly and chooses how to spend it. They can hire McBenleo Cares directly and manage their own care arrangements.

  • Maximum control over your care
  • Choose your own provider
  • Flexibility to change support as needed

SDS Option 2

Individual Service Fund (ISF)

The person chooses the provider, but the council holds the budget and pays the provider. You still choose McBenleo Cares, but with less administrative responsibility.

  • Choose your preferred provider
  • Less financial management required
  • Council handles payment administration
